Notification Troubleshooting

Make sure you receive pings on your device

Notifications need to be enabled in both your browser settings and your system settings. Select your browser below for specific instructions.

Chrome on macOS

Enable notifications in Chrome:

  1. Click the lock icon in the address bar
  2. Click "Site settings"
  3. Find "Notifications" and set to "Allow"
  4. Reload the page and click "Get My Link" again

Check macOS System Settings:

  1. Click Apple logo → System Settings → Notifications
  2. Find Google Chrome in the list
  3. Toggle "Allow notifications" ON
  4. Also check that Google Chrome Helper (Alerts) is enabled
Important: Both Chrome browser settings AND macOS System Settings must allow notifications. Chrome Helper (Alerts) is the background process that displays notifications.
Safari on macOS

Enable notifications in Safari:

  1. Go to Safari → Settings → Websites
  2. Click Notifications in the left sidebar
  3. Make sure "Allow websites to ask for permission to send push notifications" is checked
  4. Find this site and set to "Allow"
  5. Reload the page and click "Get My Link" again

Check macOS System Settings:

  1. Click Apple logo → System Settings → Notifications
  2. Find Safari in the list
  3. Toggle "Allow notifications" ON
Requirements: Safari requires macOS 13 (Ventura) or later for Web Push support. Safari uses Apple's Push Notification service (APNs).
Microsoft Edge on macOS

Enable notifications in Edge:

  1. Click the three dots (…) menu → Settings
  2. Go to Cookies and site permissions → Notifications
  3. Make sure "Ask before sending" is ON (not blocked)
  4. Or click the lock icon in the address bar and allow notifications for this site
  5. Reload the page and click "Get My Link" again

Check macOS System Settings:

  1. Click Apple logo → System Settings → Notifications
  2. Find Microsoft Edge in the list
  3. Toggle "Allow notifications" ON
Important: Edge must be allowed to show notifications in BOTH the browser settings AND macOS System Settings.
Chrome on Windows

Enable notifications in Chrome:

  1. Click the lock icon in the address bar
  2. Click "Site settings"
  3. Find "Notifications" and set to "Allow"
  4. Reload the page and click "Get My Link" again

Check Windows Settings:

  1. Press Windows + I to open Settings
  2. Go to System → Notifications
  3. Toggle "Notifications" ON at the top
  4. Scroll down and find Google Chrome
  5. Make sure it's enabled
  6. Check that Focus Assist is not blocking notifications (Settings → System → Focus Assist → Off)
Tip: Chrome uses Windows native notifications that appear in the Action Center.
Microsoft Edge on Windows

Enable notifications in Edge:

  1. Click the three dots (…) menu → Settings
  2. Go to Cookies and site permissions → Notifications
  3. Make sure "Ask before sending" is ON (not blocked)
  4. Or click the lock icon in the address bar and allow notifications for this site
  5. Reload the page and click "Get My Link" again

Check Windows Settings:

  1. Press Windows + I to open Settings
  2. Go to System → Notifications
  3. Toggle "Notifications" ON at the top
  4. Scroll down and find Microsoft Edge
  5. Make sure it's enabled
  6. Check that Focus Assist is OFF
Tip: Edge uses Windows Notification Service (WNS) for delivering notifications.
Firefox (All Platforms)

Enable notifications in Firefox:

  1. Click the padlock icon in the address bar
  2. Click "Connection Secure" or the arrow
  3. Under Permissions, find "Send notifications"
  4. Uncheck "Use Default" and select "Allow"
  5. Or go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Permissions → Notifications → Settings
  6. Reload the page and click "Get My Link" again

Check OS settings:

  • macOS: System Settings → Notifications → Firefox → Allow notifications ON
  • Windows: Settings → System → Notifications → Firefox → Enable
  • Linux: Depends on your desktop environment (GNOME, KDE, etc.)
Note: Firefox requires a user interaction (like clicking a button) before showing the permission prompt.
iPhone/iPad (any browser)

Requirements:

  • iOS 16.4 or iPadOS 16.4 or later
  • Must install as PWA (add to Home Screen)
  • Works with Safari, Chrome, and other browsers

Installation steps:

  1. Tap the Share button (square with arrow)
  2. Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen"
  3. Tap "Add" in the top right
  4. Open the app from your Home Screen icon
  5. Click "Get My Link" - you'll be asked for notification permission
  6. Tap "Allow"
Important: Web Push notifications ONLY work when the site is opened from the Home Screen icon, NOT from the browser. This is an iOS limitation.
Chrome on Android

Enable notifications in Chrome:

  1. Tap the three dots (⋮) menu
  2. Tap Settings → Site settings → Notifications
  3. Make sure the toggle at the top is ON
  4. Or tap the lock icon in the address bar → Permissions
  5. Set "Notifications" to "Allow"
  6. Reload the page and click "Get My Link" again

Check Android Settings:

  1. Open Settings → Apps → Chrome
  2. Tap Notifications
  3. Toggle notifications ON
  4. Make sure "Sites" or specific notification channels are enabled
Note: Android 13+ requires explicit permission for notifications. Chrome may auto-remove permissions for sites you don't visit often.
Other Browsers

General steps:

  1. Look for a lock or settings icon in your browser's address bar
  2. Find notification permissions and set to "Allow"
  3. Check your operating system's notification settings
  4. Make sure your browser is allowed to show notifications
  5. Reload the page and try again
